Kadam — also known as kadamba (Neolamarckia cadamba) — is a large, fast-growing tropical tree native to South and Southeast Asia, celebrated across India for its spiritual significance and its extraordinarily sweet-scented blossoms. In Hindu mythology, kadamba is intimately associated with the god Krishna, who is said to have played his flute beneath its branches on the banks of the Yamuna River.
