Tobacco blossom Fragrances

Tobacco blossom is the flower of the tobacco plant, a member of the genus Nicotiana (such as Nicotiana alata) in the nightshade family, native to the Americas. Unlike cured tobacco leaf, the note is drawn from the fresh, fragrant blooms, captured by solvent extraction or headspace techniques rather than the curing that defines leaf tobacco.

Its scent is honeyed and dry-floral, soft and faintly green, with a powdery sweetness reminiscent of hay and a gentle balsamic warmth. Where leaf tobacco reads smoky and resinous, the blossom is softer and more nectarous, carrying delicate facets of jasmine-like white flower and a whisper of spice that lingers comfortingly on skin.

In composition, tobacco blossom serves chiefly as a heart note, bridging floral and oriental-amber territory and lending warmth, fullness, and a cosy dryness. It harmonises with vanilla, tonka, and labdanum below, and with rose, orange blossom, and soft spices alongside, rounding gourmand and floral-woody accords alike.
