About MFK Fragrances
About MFK Fragrances
Maison Francis Kurkdjian was established in Paris in 2009 by Francis Kurkdjian — widely regarded as one of the greatest living perfumers — alongside his business partner Marc Chaya. For Kurkdjian, the creation of his own house was the culmination of a career that had already produced some of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed fragrances of the modern era, including Jean Paul Gaultier's Le Male, Narciso Rodriguez For Her, and Elie Saab Le Parfum. With his own maison, Kurkdjian finally had the freedom to explore fragrance creation without the commercial constraints of large fashion houses — to make perfumes purely on his own terms.
The brand's guiding philosophy is the concept of the fragrance wardrobe — the idea, drawn from Kurkdjian's deep knowledge of both fashion and perfumery, that a person's scent collection should function like a well-considered wardrobe, with different pieces chosen for different occasions, moods, and moments. This philosophy underpins the structure of the MFK range, which spans a remarkably wide spectrum: from the sheer, mineral freshness of Aqua Universalis to the dark, smoky opulence of Oud Satin Mood, with a dozen extraordinary compositions in between. The Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait, created to celebrate the Baccarat crystal house's anniversary, became one of the most talked-about and widely imitated fragrances of the 2010s — a warm, airy, almost crystalline amber-floral of extraordinary beauty.
Maison Francis Kurkdjian's compositions are unified by their technical perfection, their balance, and a luminosity that is immediately recognisable as Kurkdjian's signature. These are fragrances of genuine artistic seriousness — built to be experienced slowly, across hours of evolution on the skin.
At Fragrenza, our MFK-inspired fragrances capture the elegance, the luminosity, and the compositional mastery of these celebrated creations — making Francis Kurkdjian's remarkable vision accessible at an everyday price.
